You will need to know:

- the difference between mass and volume

- qualitative and quantitative properties

- how to find mass

- how to find volume of regular and irregular objects (displacement)

- Archimedes

- changing measurements (mg, g, kg)

We worked on finding volume of regular and irregular objects today in class.

Homework is to complete the Activity Questions on the handout for Fri., Feb. 10.

We just finished our section on “Describing Matter.” We will have a “celebration of learning” (as in, a QUIZ) next week, on Friday, January 13.

Welcome, Division 3, to Mrs. Moy’s science page. Today we started our mind maps/Cornell notes on Characteristics and Properties of Matter. We talked about what “matter,” “chemistry,” and “properties” mean. We also played a game, called Mystery Box, where we used properties to guess a mysterious object.

Remember to bring your pencil crayons to science. We are learning to colour-code our notes.
