Thank you for the great outdoor class on Friday! I hope you are all enjoying some sunshine.
Composting is coming to Livingstone soon and this assignment will help you to be a school expert.
With 14 days to complete this assignment I am expecting completion by the due date. The information is easily available. For example, you might try http://www.metrovancouver.org/services/solidwaste/Residents/composting/Pages/default.aspx and find out most of what you need to know.
To meet the requirements of the assignment, please be sure to include the information below from your class handout.
-Mrs. Macdonald

Explain how composting works. Research the information you need by either using the internet, asking a gardener you know or reading a book.
This is an important third term assignment worth 25 marks.
INCLUDE:
- A carefully labelled diagram showing what is in a compost ecosystem
- 8 or more point form notes on the processes involved (what takes places in a compost, are there living things in there, what are they doing?)
- List 10 things that are good to put in a compost.
- List 10 things that cannot go in a compost.
- Answer the question: Do you think you will participate in composting when Livingstone starts to collect compostable materials? Why or why not?
