Macbeth Trial Preparations

For Wednesday May 16th

Legal Counsel

  • Opening and closing statements
  • Questions for witnesses
  • Purpose of questioning the witness, info you’re hoping to get from the question (what are you trying to prove?)
  • Use quotes from text (story, excerpts, or graphic novel) in your questions (minimum two)
Witnesses
  • Answers to questions from prosecution and defence
  • Use quotes from text (story, excerpts, or graphic novel) in your answers (minimum two)
  • Remember to answer truthfully as the character (be objective!)

Book Tub Presentations

Book Presentations must include:

1. Images: 3-5 images that relate to the book. Make sure you speak to/explain the pictures and why you chose them.

2. Excerpt: A short passage from the book that is meaningful. You should read it aloud with confidence and be able to explain where it comes in the story. (No spoilers!)

3. Impact: Explain why this book is important to read (the “take away”). Can include personal or real world connections.

Performances on Monday May 7th

Your soliloquy should:

  • voice the characters thoughts and feelings
  • be read aloud confidently
  • be read with emotion

Macbeth Letter – Good Copy
