Welcome!    Divisions 1, 2 and 3 are going to have an exciting year.   The students will have a homeroom, but they will travel to different teachers for many of their subjects.  It makes for a very exciting place to learn and work.

 Here’s a break down of which teacher is teaching which subjects:

Math 7:   Mrs. Cassie and Mrs. Ebert teaches this class and uses the Math Power 7 text.

Math 6:  Mrs. Moy teaches this class and uses the Nelson 6 text.

Math 5:  Ms. Geri teaches this class and uses the Jump Math 5 series.

Language Arts:   We offer 4 separate language arts groupings.  Language arts is taught between recess and lunch Monday – Thursday.    We teach the language arts skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking, presenting) through themes that will help develop students’ background knowledge about our world.   This year all the groups will be studying the Middle Ages and Greek Mythology.  The language arts groups are taught by the homeroom teachers and Ms. Robins, our resource teacher, and Ms. Zubke, our librarian.     **Many of our field trips during the year are connected with our language arts themes.

Social Studies 5:    Ms. Zubke will be teaching this class.  This year social studies will be once a week for the entire afternoon every Tuesday.

Social Studies 6:   Mrs. Moy will be teaching this class.  This year social studies will be once a week for the entire afternoon every Tuesday.

Social Studies 7:   Ms. Geri and Mrs. Cassie will share the teaching of this class.  This year social studies will be once a week for the entire afternoon every Tuesday.

Science:    Each of the homeroom teachers will develop a science strand:

Mrs. Ebert (earth and space), Mrs. Moy (chemistry), and Ms. Geri (biology).   Each of the homeroom classes will rotate through the three strands over the course of the year.

French:  Ms. Geri will teach her own homeroom French.     Mrs. Cassie and Mrs. Ebert will teach French to her own homeroom and to Mrs. Moy’s homeroom.

PE:    Ms. Geri will teach her own homeroom PE.   Mrs. Moy will teach PE to her own homeroom and to Mrs. Cassie’s/Mrs. Ebert’s homeroom.  

Art, Projects, Yearbook:   Each homeroom will teach their own art, but many of the projects and assignment will be the same.
